This pie is Rex's favorite dessert of all time! When we got married, I knew I needed to learn the ways of pie-making. Pie is his "birthday cake" substitution every year. I'm not going to lie- I was totally sick about it! It took me a few tries but I finally mastered the art of pie-making and you can too! My Grandma Arave makes the bests pies and this glaze and pie crust are the two she has used for years! I hope you enjoy this Fresh Fruit Pie (Raspberry, Strawberry, or Peach) as much as our family does.
Step-by-Step
- Gather supplies. You'll need Jell-O, sugar, cornstarch, and water.
- In a saucepan mix sugar, cornstarch, and jello.
- Whisk until combined.
- Add 2 cups water to the Jello-o mixture and bring to a rapid boil for 2 minutes whisking continuously.
- Cool glaze and pie crust to room temperature.
- Add washed and cut up fruit to your pie crust.
- Pour glaze over fruit.
- Top with Homemade Whipped Cream.
- Try subbing the fresh strawberries for either fresh raspberries or fresh peaches!!!! You will NOT be disappointed! Pick Jell-O flavoring based on the fruit you pick.
- Easily make a slab pie, perfect for Thanksgiving or a large crowd. Do this by doubling the crust, filling, and fruit. You will need to use a jelly-roll pan.
- Fresh homemade whipped cream is an absolute must!
- I HIGHLY recommend making your own pie crust. Our grandma's recipe is amazing and I've got a great step by step tutorial you can follow.
