Sugar Cookie Bars-- The easiest way to get your homemade sugar cookie fix

March 7, 2017 by Sadie Leave a Comment

If you're looking for the sugar cookie fix without the hassle of rolling and cutting, then you have come to the right place! These are the EASIEST cookie bars and they are amazing!

Sugar Cookie Bars
Cookie
3 cups flour
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
cut in
1 cup butter, softened mix in
2 Eggs
4 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla

Frosting
6 cups powdered sugar
2/3 cup butter, softened
1 tablespoon almond or vanilla extract
8-10 tablespoons milk or heavy whipping cream
5 drops red food coloring

Instructions for cookies: Sift together sugar, flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Cut in butter. In a separate bowl, beat eggs, milk, and vanilla. Slowly add in flour mixture. Press dough out on a jellyroll sheet pan. I like to dip my fingers in a little bit of flour so the dough won't stick to me. Bake at 350 degrees for 14 minutes (a minute or two less/longer depending on your preference). Also-- We prefer to use a silicone baking mat. Parchment paper will work well too.

Frosting: Mix all ingredients together with a mixer until frosting is the right consistency. Add more milk or powdered sugar if needed.
